Privacy Policy

Overview

Roambeast is a fully offline location-based mobile game. All data generated while you play is stored exclusively on your device using SQLite. No data is transmitted to any server operated by us.

Data We Collect

The app stores the following data locally on your device:

• Precise GPS location — used while the app is in the foreground to show nearby creatures and crystals on the map. Location is never recorded in the background and is never uploaded.
• Walk distance statistics — cumulative walking distance and session counts, calculated from GPS updates and stored locally for in-game stats.
• Consent and session flags — the date and version of Terms of Service you accepted, and whether first-launch screens have been shown, stored locally so we can re-prompt you on material updates.
• Game state — captured creatures, inventory, downloaded map regions, and spawn timers, stored locally for gameplay continuity.

We do not collect names, email addresses, account credentials, advertising identifiers, or any data linked to your identity.

How Data Is Stored

All data is stored in an SQLite database on your device. It is never uploaded to, or accessible by, Roambeast's servers — because we do not operate any servers that receive player data.

Third-Party Services

Roambeast uses the Mapbox SDK to render maps. When you download a map region, the app fetches offline map tiles directly from Mapbox's CDN to your device. Mapbox may log standard network request metadata (IP address, tile coordinates, timestamp) as part of this tile delivery. See the Mapbox Privacy Policy for details.

No other third-party SDKs that collect personal data are included in the app. There are no analytics, crash-reporting, or advertising SDKs.

How to Delete Your Data

You can delete all locally stored data in two ways:

• Delete the app — uninstalling Roambeast removes the SQLite database and all associated files from your device.
• In-app data wipe — the Settings screen includes a "Delete my data" option that wipes the local database and resets all consent flags without requiring you to uninstall.

Children's Privacy

Roambeast requires users to be at least 13 years old. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 is using the app, please contact us at the address below.

Your Rights Under GDPR

If you are located in the EEA, you have the right to access, correct, and erase personal data we hold about you. Because all data is stored on your own device, you can exercise these rights directly at any time using the in-app data wipe described above.

Governing Law

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of Norway and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) as implemented in Norwegian law. Any disputes shall be resolved in Norwegian courts.

Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and re-prompt in-app consent where required. Continued use of Roambeast after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
